Sitting across my friend in the dinner while sipping a cup of coffee I asked him
where can one buy a vacation home?
Of course, the “Realtor in him quickly jumped out” and he started listing hot spots for vacation homes. One one of such places was Sarasota, Florida. So I asked, can anyone buy a vacation home there? It was a rhetorical question, I know. “with Sarasota waterfront homes, if you’ve got the cash, you’ll get a house” was his reply.
Now, everyone who wishes to buy a home or has bought one to live in knows they are buying much more than a place to sleep.
On the other hand, a vacation home is? Well, as the name suggests is a vacation home right!
Well, maybe, maybe not. The meaning is subjective.
Anyway, if you’ve ever been to the beach community of Sarasota, Florida then you know its awash in sophistication and charm and has an atmosphere different from the more hectic vacation places so characteristic of The Hamptons area and the tourist beaches of the French Riviera.
Sarasota is a city south of Tampa on Florida’s Gulf Coast and is one of Florida’s more affluent towns. Vacation homes in Sarasota, Florida have always been in demand. It also boasts miles of beaches with fine sand and shallow waters, for example, the Siesta Key Beach and Lido Beach.
The town hosts a number of cultural institutes, notably the Ringling Museum of Art but above all, it is widely known for its plush vacation homes.
Moreover, the Sarasota area has become one of the fastest-growing cities in the state.
Not a bad place to rent or buy a home and vacay with your friends and family eh!
Fortunately, buying Sarasota waterfront homes is easy. Like my friend said “if you’ve got the cash, you’ll get a house”
First of all, People buy vacation homes for two main reasons.
(i) So they can have a place to stay when on vacation.
(ii) So they can earn additional income by renting out the place whenever it’s not in use.
Regardless of the reason to buy, you will need a real estate broker and a damn good one. Using a local firm makes more sense. And Yes! there is no shortage of brokerage firms but not all of them are cut from the same cloth.
Reasons Why You Need A Real Estate Broker
1. Legal Documentation
With every real estate transaction, there’s a great deal of legal documentation that goes on. Trying to do the exchange on your own, you might fall short in honoring all of the necessary legal documents. In short, let the broker handle it.
2. Local Knowledge
There’s no substitute for a professional real estate broker who has local expertise. Generally, local brokers have a clear understanding of factors, like trending and emerging neighborhoods. Plus, they are often familiar with unlisted homes for sale and those about to come on the market.
