In a bid to strengthen up his team and a possible reunion, Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte continues his pursuit of Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.
The 2018 World Cup winner has always been on the transfer market linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge particularly this summer. Having only returned from injury and failed to impress Frank Lampard, who was newly appointed to the club. Inter’s interest in the midfielder remains ever-present as they continue to be linked with him, with several high roller casinos still including odds regarding his future despite the low chances.
While the Premier League giants are unwilling to part ways with the Frenchman, The Sun reported that the former Chelsea boss remains keen and hope they will be able to bring in the France international, who has also sparked the interests from Spanish club Real Madrid.
Conte was able to secure the signing of Arturo Vidal from Barcelona during the summer transfer window; he also secured permanent deals for midfielder duo Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella. He brought back Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan on loan, and yet the Inter manager is still not convinced with his midfield.
According to several reports, Kante is currently taking the leading position in Antonio Conte’s wish list as the Italian manager continues to seek a reunion with his former player, who was pivotal in his Premier League victory for the 2016/17 campaign.
Chelsea might not be willing to part with the 2018 World Cup winner anytime soon as Kante has been immensely pivotal for the club so far this season having started all eight league games for the club while impressing the manager in his new formation.
While the Blues might not be willing to part with the player, Lampard does not see Kante as the ideal player for the position as he continues with his pursuit to sign Declan Rice from London rivals West Ham United. Selling the Frenchman will see funds available for the Blues to bring in the English midfielder, who is said to be priced at £80 million – which was tagged as overpriced by south african online casino earlier – during the summer transfer window.
While Lampard might not see Kante as a long term player for the position, he still hopes to retain the Frenchman at Stamford Bridge even after the possible signing of Rice from West Ham. Lampard wants to see the France international play a more advanced role in his midfield.
Kante only has three years remaining on his current contract with Stamford Bridge and he has overtime stated he is happy with the club with no current wish to move away.
