Today, street lighting is more stringent, and the world is getting brighter at night. All thanks to LED lights, which are increasingly gaining the approval of millions of people. However, just like any other type of lighting, LED lights also have problems, that’s why today we present you the problem of led street lights.
- The light starts blinking constantly after the power is on.
This is one of the most common failures that we can find in LED street lights. It may be caused by a loose connection to either the controller or rectifier. And on the other hand, connecting parts that are not appropriate for the LED strip light may be used.
All connections and their compatibility must be verified to rule out that it is not this fault. In case they are not correct, they must be changed immediately, or the problem will continue.
- The LED light bulb has not turned on.
Another of the most common problems that lighting technicians face is that the connections disconnect by themselves or have not been plugged in correctly.
A solution for this inconvenience will be to check the connections and restore them, and if necessary, change the battery for a new one.
- LED bulb too hot.
This problem can occur because the voltage on the power supply is too high, faulty, or stunted. After verifying the voltage of the source, proceed to regulate or change the power source for one more suitable for the voltage of the lights.
- The light from the LED spotlight is dim.
When it happens that the last light of the LED strip is dull, it is due to a voltage drop that prevents it from remaining at the proper brightness. In this case, a quick fix would be to split the LED strip light into multiple controllers or sources.
In this case, you must take into account the voltage and the length of each strip so that you distribute them properly. For example, for 24V strips, you can distribute them a maximum of 20 meters, for 12V strips, a maximum of 10 meters, and 220V strips, a maximum of 50 meters.
- It is not connected to a proper power source.
No matter how well you do your LED street light installation, you will still have constant problems if you don’t have a proper power supply. This is the essential step because from it came the functionality of your strips.
Also, keep in mind that the voltages of each led light strip are recommended for short or long lengths. It is not recommended to use a 12V LED light strip for long stretches of streets because the most likely is that the lights do not work correctly and the lighting system constantly fails.
In this case, it is when the problems of flickering, dim light, problems turning on or overheating begin to arise. So to prevent you from having these LED light problems, make sure you have the correct power supply.
- It is not properly connected to the pins of the LED strip
If this happens, it can be for two reasons: The connection pin is not inserted correctly, or it is defective. This is a persistent error during connections, so before finishing the process you must make sure that they are connected properly because otherwise they can be damaged or broken.
